Directions to Fort Story and Transition Area

The race is located on Fort Story. To obtain access to Fort Story, everyone must enter through the East Gate of Fort Story located on Atlantic Avenue (Near the intersection of Shore Drive and Atlantic Avenue) Click here for directions.

From the Packet Pick-up, which is located on 19th Street and Pacific Avenue, proceed North on Pacific Avenue. Pacific Avenue will merge into Atlantic Avenue at 42nd Street. Continue proceeding North on Atlantic Avenue until you reach Atlantic Avenue and 89th Street where Fort Story's main gate (east gate) is located. Caveat: At the stop light at Atlantic Avenue and 82nd Street, bear right onto Atlantic Avenue. If you do not bear right and continue straight, the road will merge into Shore Drive which will take you off course.

****Note: the West Gate of Fort Story will be closed to all traffic the morning of the race. All vehicles must have either a military sticker or a guest pass to enter the Fort. Every person sixteen years of age or older must present a valid ID at the gate. Failure to comply with these terms may result in your being denied access to the Fort. Guest passes will be distributed at Packet Pick-up. If you are unable to attend Packet Pick-up, email team@kalerunning.com to make arrangements to obtain a guest pass.****

The transition area is located at the Fort Story at the football field near the intersection of Mindoro Rd and Atlantic Ave. Parking will be on the north side of Atlantic Ave. The transition area will open at 6:30 a.m. for bike placement. Once you entering Fort Story's Gate, proceed on Atlantic Avenue approximately four blocks past the Cape Henry Lighthouses. There will be volunteers directing you where to park.
